Coaching within organisations
Organisations and their environments are constantly evolving. I help the leaders of those organisations, through coaching, to take the time and space to consider their next steps, become even more effective as leaders and support the development of their teams.

I provide 1:1, group and team coaching to senior leaders, those new in post and those preparing for more senior roles.
Principals of organisations usually seek coaching to work on particular areas of their leadership (e.g. communication, work winning) or to find space and a framework to consider what is next for them or the organisation.
As well as supporting those at the very top of organisations, I work with emerging leaders and managers, particularly within organisations who are keen to invest in and retain their best people. Architects and other professionals tend to be promoted for their technical abilities. When thrust into more senior roles they are expected to take on more responsibility for team management and work winning. These aren’t skills that come naturally to everyone and coaching can help those moving into management roles to be more effective, more quickly.
This support is often needed for a group of managers or the whole senior management team. For this reason, I co-created Step Up with fellow coach Louise Rodgers. Through this collaboration, we devise and co-deliver bespoke leadership programmes for architects, engineers and other built environment consultancies. -
Every so often organisations need to take a step back and consider where they want to go next. This process can bring fresh energy, new directions and generally bring the senior and wider team together behind a renewed vision, purpose and direction. I work with senior people and their teams to facilitate away days and workshops to devise vision, strategies and plans.

Most professional services organisations need to secure new business through their fee-earning staff. These people are highly technically trained and able, but few are given the support to contribute effectively to business development and networking.
I combine my business development background and coaching expertise to provide coaching, mentoring and training to these people individually, in groups and via open workshops. Those sessions range from workshops with the senior team to help review, structure, strategise and advise on business development efforts, through group coaching for associates who are increasing their contribution to work winning efforts, to 1:1 support for those who want to increase their confidence around networking and public speaking.

Boards and senior teams are under pressure to provide direction, engage their wider teams and deliver in an increasingly uncertain world. Team coaching can increase effectiveness by creating clarity, improving communication and increasing understanding of each others strengths. I am a qualified and accredited team coach, used to working with senior individuals and boards and can create the right environment for productive and enlightening conversations which lead to better performance.
This work can also be directed at supporting business direction and planning. Whether that’s teasing out a purpose statement, enabling discussions around values or supporting the production of a new three year business plan, external input via coaching and or facilitation can make this time worthwhile and make sure leaders are all able to contribute fully.

It can be lonely at the top, particularly for those at the start of their new business journey. As a business coach, I provide the space and time for confidential and creative conversation. I act as a sounding board for founders and principals, offering a different perspective and sometimes healthy challenge! I can help you gain clarity and structure, make decisions and generally move forward with those plans and actions which often get lost in ‘busyness’.
I am a qualified and ICF accredited business coach (PGCert, PCC).
“Working with a coach was a new experience for me, Rachel helped me identify my goals and acted as a sounding board offering a different perspective. Following the coaching sessions, I have a toolkit of approaches to help me unlock and navigate the various leadership challenges that cross my path.”
